How Networkfleet Works

Networkfleet™ is the first commercially available aftermarket system that dynamically measures and reports the status of a vehicle's diagnostic performance. Once installed in a vehicle, our patented system collects diagnostic data from a host vehicle's on-board computer and location information from a global positioning system (GPS) and transmits these data over a conventional wireless network to an Internet-based computer system. The computer system analyzes the data and posts the results on a secure web site. (www.networkfleet.com).

Benefits for Fleet Managers

How does Networkfleet process the in-vehicle data?

Our back-end software system automatically extracts and analyzes diagnostic and location information sent from the in-vehicle unit. A software system automatically analyzes diagnostic data from the database with a series of calculations to determine properties such as: vehicle alerts, emissions status, fuel efficiency and fuel consumed, historical and present vehicle speed, and historical analysis of diagnostic information to monitor vehicle problems.

Similarly, the software system includes calculations that analyze location information to determine the vehicle's location (using a map and numerical street address), vehicle tracks, driving directions, and landmarking applications. All analyses are done either automatically or following user-initiated commands.

What types of vehicles can be equipped with Networkfleet?

Networkfleet is a universal solution that can be installed on any type of vehicle. This includes Class 1-3 passenger cars and light-duty trucks, Class 4-6 medium-duty and light-heavy duty trucks and Class 8 heavy-duty trucks. Networkfleet is able to provide remote diagnostics data on 1996 and newer cars/light trucks and 1988 and newer heavy trucks. Networkfleet interfaces with ISO, J1708 and CAN protocols.
